I have a few links for you if so! I’ve recently came across a pretty good set of comics based mostly around video game lulz, and I’ve decided to share the lulz with you guys. I’ve chosen a few of my favorite comics from these sites, but you have to hit the jump to see them!
Another game out of my backlog: Resident Evil 4
July 27, 2008
The first hour of RE4 is one of the most demanding, punishing things I’ve ever suffered through in my gaming life. The game throws you right into the middle of things with no tutorials, no explanation, and no warning. Within minutes you find yourself surrounded by enemies in a village where you haven’t even begun to get your bearings, but you’re too busy fiddling with the game’s arcane controls to worry about any of that. After playing more modern, Western third person shooters, RE4’s controls seem confusing and crippling. Everyone has heard the long rants on the Internet about the inability to move and shoot, though I think the inability to move and look in separate directions is far more significant to the overall feel of the game. Pokémon Diamond and my thoughts so far.
July 23, 2008
Well, like most of you anime-nerd-gamers out there, I’ve been an avid Pokémon fan for the better part of my life. Although Diamond isn’t anything we’re not used to seeing from the handheld Pokémon games, it’s still dangerously addicting. I’ve taken it upon myself to catch every cute/cool looking Pokémon I see, rather than catch the ones that would be most useful to me, just because I like challenges (and cute stuff). Here are my thoughts so far.

July 17, 2008Buy.com SUCKS at actually getting stuff to you.
July 14, 2008
So, like most gamers, I’m always looking at an opportunity to get some sort deal on game-related purchases. Most of it includes frequenting many discount sites until something of interest pops up. Well, Buy.com caught my interest with 12 months of XBL (one free month included, thus 13 months) for only $45 bucks. Well, like most internet lovers, I happen to have e-mail addresses all over the place. One of them finally serving as a benefit to me in this purchase of 13 months of XBL. Using Google check-out, I was able to slash $10 off the orignial $45, thus 13 months of XBL for the low, low price of $35 dollars.
MS E3 Conference Impressions
July 14, 2008
It’s E3 time! Yay! So here are my thoughts on the recently completed Microsoft press conference.
First up, Fallout 3. MS is giving this one a lot more coverage than I’d expect. They seem to be setting it up as their big demo for the show, a la CoD4 last year. Definitely looks good, and the humor is great. Exclusive downloads is a big plus for MS, let’s just hope it’s better than horse armor. Read the rest of this entry »
A complaint about Grand Theft Auto
July 10, 2008
I, like a lot of people out there with no lives, got GTA4 at its midnight release, and played it far too much during the first few days I had it. It was one of the most addictive things I’ve played in a long time. In a weird sort of way, it was sort of the gritty, realistic cousin of last year’s Super Mario Galaxy. No PC for Nicki either. :(
July 10, 2008
I think someone is plotting against me. Not even a full two weeks after the blog has launched, both my 360 and computer have keeled over. Luckily, I think the problem with my computer can be fixed by a simple OS reinstallment. The only problem is, my XP disc is corrupt. Go figure, right? I’m having to have one of my friends snail mail me their OS disc because there is no way in hell I am paying the hundred bucks to get a new one.
I bet you’re all wondering what I’m going to occupy myself during this time without my most prized possessions, though…
PWNED.com – A Society of Gamers
July 7, 2008
I’d like to take this time to shamelessly plug one of my favorite websites out there, PWNED.com. If you’re enough of a gamer to know what PWNED means, you are more than likely groaning at the fact a website is using the trademarked word “pwned”, but rest assured, this site is awesome. A lot of people have called it MySpace for gamers, but to be honest, that’s far from the truth.
